Apple TV App not Functioning on My Samsung TV

I am having issues with the Apple TV app on my Samsung TV. The app takes a long time to load, and once it finally reaches the home screen, I cannot sign in or play any content. I keep getting a message that says, "Something went wrong. There was a problem connecting. Please try again."

This has been happening for over a month, even though the app used to work fine before. I've tried every troubleshooting step available: resetting the Smart Hub, factory resetting the TV, deleting and reinstalling the Apple TV app, clearing the app's cache and data, checking the time zone and DNS settings, updating both the TV software and the Apple TV app, resetting my wifi router and modem, and performing a cold reboot on the TV. Nothing has worked.

I even contacted both Apple and Samsung, but they were unable to determine the issue. All other apps on my TV are functioning properly; it is only the Apple TV app that is not working. Each time I attempt to sign in or play content, I receive the same error message and the same issue with it taking a very long time to load the app.

“There was a problem connecting.”

The issue per notification seems to be about communication of the app with remote servers. Presumably the app isn’t getting a valid response in a timely manner. As you say that other apps do not experience this, the issue points to specific servers for this app. This could be due to the network or DNS settings, or other things in the localized space. If the app itself or the Apple servers were having issues, then a much larger group than just you would be affected. System status - Apple Support

Network: Cold restart both the TV and the router (and optional other powered network gear), for a fresh home network connection between them without older cached data.

DNS: Your TV is probably requesting DNS info from the router (192.168.x.x), which gets that from the DNS server preference list in the router settings. Try a different set of DNS servers, in case the current one isn’t optimal. The DNS servers from your ISP are intended to be good and the fastest, and should be the first choice for most people. Some third party DNS servers [*] may have slight differences (blocking, unblocking, or redirecting differently), although Apple services shouldn’t be affected by that. Test with variance anyway.
