Hey guys. so im plugging my macbook pro to and LG tv through HDMI, i get a screen mirroring, but any video i try to play doesnt work. stremio, youtube, thing on vlc.
i understand maybe its a HDCP problem- but what the can i do to fix that?
i dont want to use airplay cause the videos dont run smoothly on it.
any thoguhts?

Possible that you’re using Chrome with hardware acceleration (turn that off) or a non-compliant HDMI cable (get a different one).

Swapping to a different HDMI cable is a good debugging technique to check for broken cable.
HDMI cables you want for HDMI-only Displays (higher resolutions than 720p TV sets) are marked as Certified with an anti-counterfeiting tag and are labeled:
"PREMIUM High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "with Ethernet" (up to 4K at 30Hz) --OR--
“ULTRA High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "48G" (supports higher resolutions and backward-compatible)
Cables with No Certification tags are good for your standard 720p TV set, and not much more.

i tried with two hdmis and it doesnt work.
and it doesnt work also not in a browser- VLC for instance...

Streaming services often restrict what can be played when you connect an external display that is Not HDCP compliant.
Video doesn't play when HDMI is connected to my MacBook Pro
