Apple Pay payment debited from my card but not received by merchant

I live abroad and ordered flowers from a US shop on their website using Apple Pay (via my foreign credit card on my iphone). I did not received a confirmation email, though Apple Pay sent me immediate notification that the payment was accepted. I called the shop and they still had no record of the purchase 24 hours later, so I purchased the flowers again (successfully) using a different credit card. A week later I saw on my bank statement that my foreign credit card had been charged for the initial order. I called the shop but they keep reiterating that they did not receive the payment. My foreign bank says that because the charge went through, the shop must have received the payment. So I understand that the payment was made from my bank to Apple, but then the funds did not go to the flower shop. Where is my money, and what can I do to get it back?

Unfortunately, Apple is not involved in the processing of any ApplePay transactions.

(not unlike how they are not involved when you place a call, run an app, or surf the web)

All transactions are handled by the merchant, your card issuer, and the various payments-processing networks and entities in-between.

You’re going to have to resolve it between your merchant and your card issuer.

While I don’t know anything about the consumer credit-card laws in your particular region — and me citing U.S. processes would only serve to confuse maters — I don’t relish the “uphill climb” you’re undoubtedly facing.

Best of luck.
