Solid temporary fixes for iOS 18.5 Quickpath (aka "Slide to type") feature that gets worse and worse with regular use

The iOS Quickpath ("slide to type") keyboard feature, which I use almost all the time, has become so bad, it dangerously introduces typos and inserts wrong words not even close to the pattern I swiped on the keyboard.

What worked for me today, though, so far, anyway, is disabling slide to type, powering the iPhone off and on, then re-enabling slide to type.

Settings, General, Keyboards, "Slide to type" off, turn off iPhone completely (Slide to Turn Off), then back on, then enable Slide to Type again.

When its quality noticebly degrades again, I'll try resetting the keyboard dictionary, or do the above procedure quarterly.

Before Apple added "Slide to type" to iOS, I used a 3rd-party app that worked well. I forget its name, probably TouchType's SwiftKey, which Microsoft bought in 2016.

Three popular 3rd-party iOS apps stilll offer that fuctionality but I don't trust them with privacy and security:

• Swiftkey bought by Microsoft (huge privacy and security risk, mostly from incompetence but also deception)

• GBoard by Google (even bigger privacy risk; a GOAT candidate for deceptive privacy violations)

• Grammarly (don't know about its privacy and security risks except for its 2018 high-severity security flaw in its browser extensions; but typing data with any such app that stores my typing on its servers instead of just on my iPhone is vulnerable to hacking, employee misuse if encryption is botched or there's no encryption regardless of marketing claims (e.g., 2010s LifeLock), other botched encryption or other security by the developer and/or 3rd-party vendor, e.g., cloud vendor like AWS, government surveillance, etc.)

So for privacy and security, I'm sticking with Apple's built-in Slide to type and will just turn it off and on or reset the keyboard dictionary when it gets lousy again. But it's working well right now.
