i am using Apple TV for streaming some Apps.
when using the Apple TV for the
discovery + app it’s sound is in pcm. But when I stream the discovery + app using my tv it’s in
Dolby stereo.
on the Apple TV if the app is using Dolby 5-1 it’s absolutely fine.

The Audio Format that the Apple TV box outputs in ‘Auto’ mode is LPCM, which can be up to 7.1. This is as intended, and shouldn’t diminish the audio, as it is a lossless decode. Dolby Digital (2.0 or 5.1) is compressed and therefore uses less data, but audio is tiny compared to the video stream anyway, and not really important for HDMI.
