Apple Watch series 6 on loop restart

Hello,

After locking my watch in water mode and going to the pool, a few hours after it started beeping and displaying "calling emergency service now". I couldn't unlock it in order to cancel it, i couldn't do

anything so i just took it off my wrist. When getting home i charged it for a few hours but since then i can't turn it on. I tried force restarting it but it just goes on a boot loop (displaying the logo after 10 sec but then disappearing).

At a local Apple authorized service provider i was told that they will only replace the watch entirely. If the watch is supposed to function at 50m water deep (and since i can't swim i wasn't even close to that number...) and i locked it into water mode before entering the pool, i don't understand why should i pay for a new watch?!

Did this happen to anyone? Did you find a way to fix it yourself?

Thank you

The Water Lock function does not enable the Water Resistance, it can just be used to expel water from the openings for the speaker and microphone.

Seals inside the watch keep the watch water resistant, but they may lose their function over time and the environment your watch has been in when swimming.

And water damage can not be fixed. If you are willing the pay the service fee for "Other Damage", Apple will replace the whole unit with a refurbished watch, which includes new battery, screen, buttons, etc.

You can get an estimate for your watch on this Apple Watch Service page:
