I cannot connect my MacBook Air with my Apple TV, because I get the message:

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 15.5

Find your Apple TV model number - Apple Support

To stream from your Mac to your Apple TV box, verify that AirPlay has been activated on the Apple TV box, through Settings﹥AirPlay and HomeKit﹥AirPlay﹥On, and its related settings there.
