How to fix charging issues with my iPad 9th generation?

With my iPad, I got it when I was about 10. I’m now a teenager and when I try to use it, sometimes it wont charge, what I mean with this is that one day, it will charge with one singular charger, but if I charge it the next day, it doesn’t charge (even with the same charger plugged into the same place as the day before) But, when I try the charger with my phone, it works. (iPhone 13) when I plug it into another port, it works occasionally.

Now, I just wanna admit that as the dumb child I was, I played with it on full brightness/while on charge.

I don’t know how to fix this, because I won’t be able to get a new iPad due to the cost.

(this is an iPad generation 9 by the way)

One time, when I turned it on, it said 0% remaining and when it did turn off, this pink stuff showed for 10 seconds before it fully turned off.

I mainly use this iPad for gaming, as most people do. I think it’s due to me playing with it on charge and full brightness as a pre teen.

As described, your iPad battery may have reached the end of its usable life. All rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan; when they can no longer accept or hold charge, the battery needs to be replaced.

Battery replacement - if required - can be arranged via the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP):

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

This avenue provides opportunity to have your iPad properly tested before committing to the cost of a battery replacement.

Alternatively, you can use Apple’s mail-in repair service - for which you can find details and costs here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

For practical purposes, in lieu of servicing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for the battery replacement.

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.
