Line Appearing on iMac M1 Screen – Not Visible in Screenshots

I have an issue with my iMac M1 2021. A thin line has recently started appearing on the display — it is static and does not flicker, and its position remains fixed. Importantly, this line does not appear in screenshots, which suggests it is not a software issue — possibly the display panel or internal cable. The iMac has not been dropped or mishandled.

Would appreciate any insight on whether Apple has acknowledged this issue for the M1 iMacs as I can see many similar concerns raised on the community.

There are no service recall programs that I’m aware of.

I recommend service.

Currently there is no Service Program for that issue but keep checking this website in case Apple instigates one: Apple Service Programs - Apple Support.

You might want to take your iMac in for a free diagnostic check at the nearest Apple Genius Bar so that you're in their database as having the problem in case the start a service program for that issue.
