Viewing folders and files using dock, not in modified order

Hi,

When I am using dock to view folders and files, I've set it to order in "date modified" order, which it does for the initial folder I'm looking at (e.g. dropbox) however if I click into another folder within that folder from there, it is not in that order anymore, I think it is showing in alphabetical order. Is there anyway around this to have it all show as date modified order?

Finder > View > Show View Options ...

...opens the window to make more serious changes.

Use the drop-down menu for [Sort by...]

If you want every folder to have those changes, click the (Use as defaults) button at the bottom when done selecting.

I am honestly not certain if this becomes the default for that device, or the default for system-wide.

If those are folders from your boot drive that you use regularly, they should behave in a completely ordinary and predictable way.

What is placed on the Dock is essentially an Alias to the Folder.

It is possible that if you used a regular Finder window and navigated to those folders, you might be able to save the view options. Such settings are stored in an invisible file inside the folder. (It might not be possible to save that in the Alias in the Dock).
