Apple Vision Pro — connectivity issue when switching from Mac to Windows
Issue Description:
When I use Apple Vision Pro to connect to my Mac Pro (M1), everything works perfectly.
However, after I disconnect from the Mac session (close the Mac session window) and try to connect to my Windows gaming laptop, I encounter significant performance issues:
- The image begins to stutter;
- Input lag appears;
- Streaming becomes unstable and choppy.
The only fix is to fully reboot the Apple Vision Pro.
Toggling Airplane Mode or turning Wi-Fi off and back on does NOT resolve the issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Connect Vision Pro to a Mac Pro (M1)
- Whether I close the window or not, it doesn't make any difference.
- Connect to a Windows laptop (e.g., via Parsec, Steam Link, etc.).
- Notice:
- Input lag,
- Frame drops,
- Unstable stream quality.
Restarting apps or network does not help.
Only a full reboot of the Apple Vision Pro restores normal performance.
What I Tried:
- Toggling Airplane Mode on/off.
- Disabling and re-enabling Wi-Fi.
- Reconnecting to the network.
- Restarting streaming apps.
- Nothing worked — only a full system reboot resolves the issue.
Possible Cause:
It seems that the network or media subsystem of Vision Pro doesn’t properly reset after a macOS session — possibly due to lingering services like:
- Multicast traffic,
- Bonjour/AirPlay state,
- QoS policies or media codecs that aren’t cleared.
